Policy and Philosophy
An Unofficial Web Site... at first.
![]()
In late 2000, this website was started after the former webmaster, Don Davis, moved into the neighborhood and discovered that the documents (deed restrictions) were a bulky item that lent itself well to being on-line. Rather than get a bunch of permissions and such, he scanned his copy and started the website as a private individual.
In 2003 the Bridlewood Homeowner's Association reimbursed him $30 so that he could register the web name "Bridlewood34685.com" That registration included one year of ad-free web space. Prior to that, he had used his AOL space for the Bridlewood website, but the addition of pictures had used up his quota of "free" web space.
At that time, the attorney for the association "strongly suggested" that he remove a link to a newspaper article that was unfavorable to a resident. The website appeared to be sanctioned by the Bridlewood HOA, and, by financing the fee, they actually were. The site became a "semi-official" website.
In the Fall of 2008, Don announced that he would be relocating to California to be with family, and offered to turn the operation of the website over to anyone that the board designated. He also offered the alternative that he would manage and update the site from California for a nominal annual fee. The board asked him to continue updating the site. Suzanne Girves, a resident of Bridlewood, has offered to take on the webmaster duties and is currently doing so.
The website will continue to spread the word on neighborhood topics, and primarily be a reference source for new, and existing neighbors. The site does not change often and has a very small viewership by Internet standards. I will continue to maintain an email list of residents who want updates. If you are not on the mailing list, I urge you to sign up (Yellow square number 13 on the home page). You will only be notified from time to time when the website has new info. Spread the word about the website and let me (Suzanne) know if there is anything you would like added. You may call me at 787-2250 or send an email to webmaster@bridlewood34685.
