Procedure for Requesting Permission to
Change the Exterior of Your House
(These guidelines are for informational purposes only and are not binding on the Board.
They are the interpretation of the webmaster to help you with the process.)

View, or print the change request form

The procedure for requesting changes through the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) varies depending on the nature and extent of the change.  Routine, clearly conforming requests are responded to very quickly, whereas others may take longer because they may need research into our covenants and deed restriction documents or county bylaws.

All requests must be in writing so that the approval can be kept on file.

The ARC will  review the request, make a recommendation to the Board on the application, and inform the applicant in writing.   If the ARC requires further clarification (paint samples, architectural drawings, variances, setbacks, etc.), they will inform the individual. All paperwork, diagrams, samples, etc. must be complete before approval will be granted.

Assuming all required items (samples, drawings, etc.) are included with the application, the ACC should be able to approve a request within a few days.  All requests are treated equitably.

You may print this form to submit your request.  It is a generic form from the management company, but it contains the basic information that is needed.  A copy can also be obtained from Becki at Management & Associates  or from a member of the chairperson of the Achetectural Review Committee. (see the Contacts page)

The request should be sent (fax, email or drop off) to Management & Associates, the management company (see the Contacts page), who will forward it to the architectural review committee.

Additional Tips

Fences -- Include a drawing of where the fence would be located, a complete description of the type of  fence including the height, and, if possible, a picture of the fencing (such as from an ad or sales brochure).  Remember that chain link fences are not allowed, and there are setback and height restrictions in our covenants and deed restrictions.

Paint -- Attach paint color samples from your paint supply or hardware store, even if you want to repaint your house the same color.

Please refer to your copy of the Bridlewood At Tarpon Woods Declaration Of Covenants, Conditions And Restrictions; specifically Articles IX and X (Use Restrictions and Architectural Control) for more detail.
